Neither JAE nor Dave Bean show anything on their web sites but I would call them first. If you are interested in the longer stroke 1600 Crossflow crank you can go to Ivey Engines in Portland, OR for one of their race-prepared FF1600 cranks. Both QED and Burton in the UK carry TC and Crossflow cranks in various counterweight and flywheel bolt/dowel drilling configurations. I find dealing with UK suppliers from the East Coast is no problem.

Mike,

I would check the left coast Twin-cam engine builders - Tony Ingram and John McCoy both have a healthy spares supply that they sell from. next likely suspects would be Veger and Jennings. Theses guys should be able to help with anything from a used stock cast to a new billet and everything in between.

I see another vendor on ebay, maxspeedingrods, that offers steel crankshafts and high strenght connecting rods. Has anyone purchased from this vendor and does anybody know anything about the quality of the product(s)? At one time I exchanged and email with them and they quoted about $2000 for a delivered crank. The cranks are supposedly machined to your specs (narrow/wide jounal, various strokes) from 4340 EN24 aircraft chrome moly Billet steel, fully counterweighted, and heat treated. The pieces sure look nice.

Mike,

The recommendations above are good.
Another resource. Jay and Cameron treat me really well:

The cranks and rods from Maxspeeding on Ebay are extremely good and have been built into several front running GTS and 26R Elans in the UK and USA.

I currently have a t/c stroke and 84mm crank both being built into competition engines.

All cranks are knife edge, narrow journal and 12 bolt lipseal.

I just remembered Marine Crankshaft in Santa Ana:

http://www.marinecrankshaftinc.com/bill ... hafts.html

Our local Twin Cam and Coventry Climax dynamometer wizard build a large displacement, turbocharged Twin Cam using one of their crankshafts. I don't recall the stroke but it was probably a little more than the 1600 Crossflow stroke. Probably more money than you want to spend, but another option.

Dave,

Thanks for the info on the maxspeedingrods pieces. Nice to know they are a legitimate option.
