Flywheel

Am having problems locating the part no. for the flywheel(common to all?)
in the parts list,have tried the engine section and clutch section but it isn't there...

Any help anyone?

P.S. is it a26 e717 ?

John,
The parts manual lists two f/wheels,
026 E 0717..........UP TO ENG NO. LP 7799
and
A026 E 0717.........FROM ENG NO. LP 7800

I presume that would be 4 bolt and 6 bolt types

Engine section E.......PLATE EB
shows crankshaft/con rod/piston/flywheel/ring gear etc......everything on the crankshaft.

As you can tell from the parts number, it is in Section E.

Have you thought of using a lightweight Fidanza flywheel? I bought a new one on eBay a little over a year ago, and I'm quite pleased with it. It's not too light that it doesn't work in street traffic, but gives you a little more spunk on acceleration. Try http://aluminumflywheels.com

The image looks a bit thick for the twink,but i did note the ref.

I have a standard one at the moment and am considering taking 3/16 or 1/4 off the face to reduce the weight,i do realise that by doing this the release bearing will have to be positiioned that much nearer the engine ,but that can be overcome.......

Any thoughts

John,
I recently had the flywheel on my engine lightened - All the machining was done on the back just outside the fixing points to the inner outer edge; Here you have a dished section that can be reduced to lighten the wheel.
