Oil Pump Position

Hi All

I'm just about to get my dry sump tank made up but before I do so, I need to know the position of the oil pump / inlet to the block to position the tank at the correct height. Seeing as I don't have my block or chassis at home it's a bit difficult to measure!

Could somebody give me a measurement of the height of the oil pump relative to somewhere on the shell, preferably the horizontal panel over the pedal box, as my tank will sit through this panel on the passenger side.

If this were a true anorak site, we could have three pages of debate over whether a question about a stock oil pump position, for purposes of modding the car, should be here or in mods!

I did consider this but didn't think that my question, or my proposal to dry sump my Elan, would
"upset the purists"...............

I'm not a purist, I'm not upset. I just thought that you might have more chance of getting an answer in that section.

You could also post in racing for dry sump questions, where mods are mods for racing ( or in this case adding option equipment per the factory) vs mods for.....
