Valve seats in cylinder head

Hi,
I am currently rebuilding the engine from my S130. The engine was last done in the late 80's/early 90's by Miles Wilkins. The block was resleeved to standard and the head was skimmed by 5 thou.New seats, guides etc also fitted. Since then the car has only done 10-15K miles. I have just had the head checked for true - no problems - but the machine shop did point out that the inlet valve seats (particularly 3 and 4) must have been proud after fitting because the subsequent skim has just eaten into the edge of the seats.
Obviously the head would not take another skim if it was ever needed but the question is should I replace the head now? Bit worried as compression on 3 and 4 was down by 50-60 psi before I started the work and there was no obvious damage to head or gasket on strip down.
Block and head have also been pressure tested with no problems shown.
Thanks
Martin B

Dont worry about the edge of the inlet seat being machined when the head is skimmed this is normal, especially if you have larger oversize valve seats fitted but will also happen with standard valve seats. Provided the valve is seating correctly you should have no problems and the head should have a long future life. You can typically skim it down until the casting numbers dissapear without to many problems. Ultimately its breaking through into the water passage under the exhaust port that limits how many times a head can be skimmed.
