Engine stand

PostPost by: martinbrowning » Sun Jun 27, 2010 7:22 pm

Hi there,
I have recently purchased an engine stand to ease the rebuild of the engine from my S130. Miles Wilkins states in his book that the engine should be attached to a stand using the exhaust side mounting point. However, the mounting plate on my stand is too large and I was considering mounting the engine by using the engine/bellhousing connecting points.

Any thoughts please?

I've mounted them on exh side, inlet side and bell housing bolts, it will work but mounting it there makes it difficult to get to the flywheel, clutch, oil seal etc. the best is the exhaust side then you can get round everywhere,
Cant you modify your stand?
