lowering twink

Have just installed my 711m block twink into my +2.
did a clearence test with the bonnet, and it closes fine although the clearence (measured using plastacene) is about 3mm.
Strikes me as a little tight. Anyone have any suggestions as how to lower it?

I would slot the holes in the engine mounts where it bolts to the engine and chassis to enable the engine to drop a little versus the chassis.
Have a close look at the impact this has on the tail shaft alignment and reduce the spacers under the gear box mount as needed to maintain the alignment as best you can.
i would aim for around 8 to 10 mm static clearance and then check it under driving condtion to ensure you still have clearance as the engne rocks under acceleration and engine braking.
Depending on the mounts your using they will also sag a little with use over time.
