SOS + .040 Piston for my rebuild

PostPost by: kenny » Thu May 17, 2007 12:12 pm

Have now decided I will have to scrap one of my new pistons (as suggested by Rohan a while back) which suffered damage via a spark plug tip when fired up by previous owner.

I've identified a new +40 piston from a supplier but the part numbers have changed and the one they have has the large cut outs as opposed to my small cutouts. I'm hesitant to buy this for compression and imbalance issues, would people agree with that?

The Piston I need is an AE 18950 +040" with the small type C cut outs can anyone please help so I can start the rebuild.
I will post the same in wanted.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Kenny

Kenny, Sitting here with 4 off New Old Stock AE ( Federal Mogul) pistons in my hand (still in their wrappers plus plenty of corrosion inhibitor).
PM me if you want to get in touch
