According to Miles Wilkins in his Twincam book:
Green, Blue, Silver (polished), Black, Red, Black ribbed and Red ribbed.
This list is basically chronological, early to late with variances for Elan's, Europa, LoCorts, cam types, federal vs non.

If it says Lotus across the front is sounds like a big valve cam cover (or maybe engine). Does it say "big valve"? Is it ribbed or smooth? Does the head have a"Z" scribed just ahead of #1 plug? The big-valve engine would not have been original in an early +2. If it is a big valve one I think the cover should be black.

I agree with Greg, I think a 67 +2 would have the "lotus" across the front would be red and non ribbed.
The "Z" refered to in the previous post is actually a "N" and is on big valve engines with ribbed covers (usually black in the U.K.) but can also be red.

Yes, just been trawing the Wilkins book and the only two colours listed for a +2 of any vintage or carb set up is red or black, the black is only on BV engines with ribbed cover (the ribbed BV cover can also be red)
