They were only rough mm equivalents as I thought you might need them for brake balance calcs not to make pistons with.
2.12"???
To the best of my knowledge the girling front calipers used on varying models of the elan either 2" or 2.125" i.e. 2 1/8" or 53.975mm, it's only 5 thou but it might make a difference.
There was also a "56 mm" variant used I think on Ford Escorts/Cortinas but whether this was a true 56mm or something close I don't know.
Rears, based on measurements on a few old pistons are just under 34mm - 33.91mm was an average of a few I measured. They won't have been sized metrically back in the 50's when they were first used (Lotus Type 14/Elite) and I suspect the ones I have (sourced from the UK aftermarket) are slightly undersized.
The nearest conventional imperial size to 33.91mm is 1 11/32" or 1.34375 or 34.13mm but I wouldn't take this as correct for anything other than balance/force ratio calculations.
The height of the rears pistons I have to hand is 28.57mm, no idea about the fronts.
