Forgot to mark my engine mounts when removing engine. So..........which fits which side?

Hi! The stromberg elans had two similar mounts(ford anglia) and the weber cars had one ford one on the exhaust side and one taller,lotus mount on the carb side to lift the engine and stop the webers fouling the body. hope this helps,Martin

And if you put the Weber mount on a Stromberg motor, the carbs will foul the bonnet. Been there, done that.

On UK Stromberg cars you need the taller mount on the carb side otherwise the underside of the carbs foul the inner wing

I forgot to mention - thats why they added the 'power bulge' in the bonnet

:ph34r: I'm building a uk stromberg elan and have fitted two ford mounts, not the tall one on carb side. i was reliably informed that only weber engine needs it, hope they were correct! Martin

:ph34r: The weber carbed elans also had these spacers on the exhaust side mount, these are the ones to shorten by about 3/8" if using a 711m block .
