Ignition

When moving my car to work on the carbs, the engine just stopped and will not restart. I have 12v going to the coil but no spark at the plugs. System is running electronic ignition. I have measured the resistance of the coil at 4 ohms. Is this correct?
Any tips on how to fault find with electronic ignition.
Regards Jack.

You need to be more descriptive when asking for help. Electronic igntion is a generic term. What type are you talking about? Crank sensor? Hall Effect? Optical?
Hopefully someone else can help you today because it's time for me go play on my own toys.

Jack,
If you are running Luminition electronic ign check that the control box (ribbed alloy box) is earthed....one black wire comes out and must have a GOOD ground.

Thanks again for your posts. Found the problem was that the person who had installed the system had not insulated the +12v wire when he connected it into the loom. It had shorted out. I have now rewired it and all is well again. All I need to do now is rewire everything else as the electrics seem to be in poor condition.
Thanks Jack
