Spyder headlamp lift

PostPost by: JeffP » Tue May 07, 2024 12:05 am

I've installed a new Spyder electric headlamp lift system in my '69 Elan Plus2. Everything works fine both manually and with power to the motor, UNTIL i install the sealed beam units.

With the extra weight the pods only open halfway, despite the crank on the motor appearing to be fully extended. I've re-installed the system and tried endless variations of adjustments, but still get the same result.

Any ideas re what's wrong? Not enough torque to the motor? Any suggestions very welcome.

Hi JeffP

Are you using the correct spring and is it able to function freely?
