+2 S130 LHD - Wiring in a complete empty Car

Now that chassis and bodywork are reunited, I have to rewire my empty +2 S130 LHD. The previous owner had bought new wiring harnesses for it. But how and where are they routed? On which side, for example, does the thick battery cable go to the front and where does the wiring harness for the rear lights go to the front? Maybe someone has a rough drawing?

Likely battery cable runs down the right side. Rear loom runs up the back bone in right corner then over left hand side into the boot past the filler neck.
It might vary depending on what loom your car has as the were different ones for the s130. If you can describe the first box setup that should confirm the loom.

Hi Hatsu,
I know a few owners who have converted from rhd to lhd. This has required making some cables longer. So i suggest you first check if it is a cable harness for lhd. If not you may need to change cable run so you don't need to extend some cables. I would lay harness in place first to check cable lengths.

On my LHD +2S (1971 with 3 fuse boxes) the battery is in the front right corner of the trunk - battery cable runs over the hump of the right rear suspension down along the bottom outside corner under the door up and through a grommet just outboard of the hood lock mechanism.
The rear lights harness + interior lights runs back along the other side (LHS) in the corner under the door. Over the top of the rear suspension hump the LH interior lights and LH speaker split off. The harness then splits: trunk light, fuel gauge & RH interior lights along in front of the tank. Tail lights along the LH inside of the trunk and then across the back.
On my car the factory - in its infinite wisdom - decided that a clock, outside air temp and fuel gauge should be on the driver's side! I have switched those three for the engine gauges, necessitating their associated wiring to be lengthened or shortened.
The wiring is tight behind the panel and the routeing of all the wires in and around the steering column, air vents and various brackets will be challenging!
As you will probably be spending a lot of time upside down in the foot well - a suggestion. Before anything goes in paint the whole area in there white. It makes seeing what you are doing so much easier.

Gosh I can relate to your concerns. I am installing a full set of harnesses into my 71 Elan Plus 2S 130 Federal with 3 fuse boxes. It is not fun..lol. Quite a challenge. Where did you get your harnesses from, British Wiring?
In any case, the rear service harness or body harness as they call it goes along the driver side inside floor sill and can be seen in the photo. The dash install is so tricky. The wiring schematic, harnesses, and tech data do not all agree with one another. It's going to be a process for sure. Good luck with your efforts, and feel free to pm me and we can compare notes on what they heck did we get ourselves into.. lol
Cheers!
By the way, what did you spray the interior with. I like it! Better than scratchy fiberglass..
