Cranking speed for Megajolt

PostPost by: RichardHawkins » Wed Oct 26, 2022 2:17 pm

In my extremely protracted restoration I have just got to the position of installing the starter motor and am surprised at how slowly the engine turns over. The engine has been rebuilt and is probably a bit tight, I hope it will loosen up after it has run for a while.

Does anyone know if there is minimum cranking speed required by Megajolt to produce a spark?

I have read past posts relating to Megajolt but cannot find an answer.

I have sent an e-mail to Trigger-wheels but not yet had a reply.

Should be fine anywhere north of 200rpm, personally I would ditch the stock starter in favour of any of the Japanese etc replacements.

Above assumes grounds/earths and associated wiring are all good.
