Hi,
..time for a new battery...
for an Elan Sprint with the original battery tray on the left side in the boot, what would you all reccomend that fits that space correctly so I can use the original clamp?
I have round terminal posts...
Thank you!

I had to settle for this one for size and bottom fixing, but check if your leads will go with left hand positive terminal. Very good battery and price don’t think you will find better.

Hi Craven,
my positive lead won’t make that stretch unfortunately…
Elanfan1,
yes I used to have the 037 many years ago… do you have the dimensions by any chance?
Thanks
Iain

I use a type 038 in my +2, which is the same size as a 037. The difference is it has round posts instead of the square ones. They're also reversed, but I just turn the battery round to face the other way...

Thanks Rob,
I think I'm going to convert back to the flat 'Ford' type terminals and use that 037 you showed ...
Cheers

I don't know if this applies to series 3 and 4, but I needed a battery for my type 26 series 1 last year. I went to my battery dealer to order a Miata sized battery which I have been using. $115 and needs to be ordered. He offered me a lawn and garden tractor battery. Exact same width and depth, maybe 3/4 inch shorter with flat terminals. CCA and AH rating just slightly lower than Miata battery. Sealed style. same warranty. Gave me new battery terminals to crimp onto welding cables I use for battery cables. $47 Posts available either way. It is only one year old now but but has given perfect service so far. You might check as price difference is significant. Gary

Thanks Gary, I hadn't thought of that as an option, I'll see what I can find... Iain
