Elan Mk3 horn

Recently bought a Mk3. (Air) horns not working and removing the horn push discovered there is 'nothing there'. Have bought a horn brush pencil which when inserted in the hole sits proud of the wheel boss - i.e. can not put the horn button on. If I push the pencil on its spring the horn sounds. Have earthed the pencil to see if that works, but nothing. Am at least legal with a working horn but want to put the button on and get the horn working properly. Help please !

There are two lengths of horn pencil. Sounds like you've got the (incorrect) longer one.......
You need the one from the Triumph Herald / Spitfire, in which the plastic clear part is around 43mm long.
