130S switches

My understanding of the OP's question is how can one identify the black dash switches if they are all bundled together and not marked which switch is which, and not where do they fit in the dash, although he may want to know that as well.
If that is the case, I have a +2 dash that is not fitted to a car, that has the switches still fitted, that I could take a picture of over the weekend. Perhaps the OP could advise.

Robin
I have attacked a scan of my sketches of the back of the switches from my S130.
By looking at the quantity of terminals, their number, if the switch latches or returns etc, think you should be able to identify which are which.
Best of luck
Gary

Robin, this thread also has an excellent summary of the switches. Each switch is shown in a separate Excel tab, with separate diagrams for what connects to what in various positions

Sorry guys thanks for your replies, perhaps I wasn’t clear. The switches were removed a long time ago and I have fitted them as I think they should go. But placing the dash into position I noticed straight away a mistake. So my question is can or does anyone know how to identify each individual switches?
Thanks Robin
Thanks Robin

I have also looked on R Dents website and they have pictures to compare which is also a great help. It’s a night mare as the wiring diagram has the colours of the cables but not the switch type function or numbers that they connect to on the switches.

You in effect have a bunch of wires and a box of mixed switches? OK, not the end of the world.
The only way to sort out which switch is which, is by identifying the function of each - ie one way and two way and then how they are applied. Then you need to identify what each pole is for by using a multimeter.
I have long since discarded the original switches, but I am sure I can find them and quickly mark up the poles for you. In the meantime you can sort out the obvious:
- There will be two switches that are two way 'momentary' 'on whilst pressed', 'off when released' 'on when pressed' (they are spring loaded in both postions and and return to rest in the centre position.) These are the window switches.
- There will be four simple switches that have two positions - 'on' or 'off'. These are Rear Screen, Hazard, Fog and Wash.
- There are three switches that have three positions - 'off', 'on' and 'on'. These are for Defrost, Panel/Interior and Wiper.
Let me know if these are the switches you have, and if so put them into the three categories for now.

Actually, rather than faff around with a multimeter, and now that you have the switches i their groups, it would be better to ask Donels above to show/give more detail on each regarding what colours go where. I will assume that Lotus have not played around too much with the wire colours behind the dash, so that this would be a ready made fix for you...
