Securing the instrument warning light shroud

A picture will save a thousand words

This black shroud usually has a couple of brass-like clips that hold it in and have disintegrated.
Does anyone have a source of replacements or other good ideas, please?

the purpose of the black plastic tube being that the light from the bulb does not smear around the colored lens on the dial (acting as a light shroud), I've fixed crumbled ones with black heat shrink tubing

Graham was actually talking about the spring clips that retain the bulb holder in the back of the instrument.

I have never actually seen any for sale anywhere. You could try making a replacement out of piano wire or even an old clock spring or maybe purchase a scrap speedo off e-bay to harvest the clips? Maybe a bit of heat shrink to increase the diameter to make it a push/force fit?

You could try a wanted ad on here for the bulb holder.

The bulb is a smaller size, but I wonder if I could harvest the inner ring of clips and put that on the black shroud???

I had the same problem. First try was to hot glue it place. Lasted a while but failed when I removed the indicator bulb. Second try was epoxy it to the case. Worked well. Final fix was sending the speedo out for repair and asking for a fix. Don't know if they added the metal clips or a new piece. Mo-Ma manufacturing, Albuquerque NM. Good repair and very fast, no affiliation. Gary
