Driving lights removal 1970 +2S

I am unable to remove the nut that secures one of the driving lights on my +2 despite repeated soaking with penetrating oil. In fact I've begun to round off the nut. I don't want to cut off the nut and destroy the lamp housing. I thought about cutting the fiberglass so that the light drops through. I could apply heat with a heat-resistant blanket surrounding the nut but I fear the fire risk. Any ideas how I might get the nut of?

On a 1970 +2S it should be a Plastic Moulding behind the Driving Lights.(spot fog)
Unless your 1970 +2S has had a new Front fitted.

I believe Alan is correct. The plastic insert is riveted to the body and the light is bolted, through tthe insert, to a metal bracket inside the nose. The bracket is held in place by one bumper bolt and two rivets.

Cutting the fiberglass won't gain you anything.

I would try getting some penetrating oil on it and see if it will loosen and maybe it is the kind that has the square cavity washer type thing that allows you to adjust the angle of the fog light and it has a nut at the top and it would seem that could be soaked and come undone. Gordon Sauer

Well I reread it and that’s dumb you said you already used penetrating oil so the other possibility is I think you could get one of those nut splitter things in there that goes around the nut and then you tighten down the small wedge thing and it splits the nut, maybe?, Gordon
