Rev counter issues

PostPost by: Andiken » Fri Aug 27, 2021 11:06 am

Morning all, my '73 plus 2s project car has an RVI 2434/00 rev counter and having just got the engine started with an AccuSpark full distributor and electronic ignition kit, I get no reading on the rev counter. From what I've found, I'll need to convert the RVI unit to make it work with the electronic ignition. And so to the question, do any of you know how to do this please? I'm an electronic engineer and am capable of making the modification if only I knew what to do!!

Regards

Andy

an easy way yo do this would be to use a spydia.com kit (no affiliation), there are also DIY schematics options, or even the approach of fixing the original one if indeed it is disfunctionnal (e.g. by replacing out-of-specs capacitors)

If it's not working at all rather than miss reading it may just not be working rather than needing converting.

Is be checking it's connections etc as a first step.
