New/refurb distributor by the weekend

Hi,
My distributor seems to have failed. There is excessive movement vertically and what seems to be quite a bit laterally. Are there any options available to get a replacement by the weekend?
i'm assuming getting mine refurbed in such a short time is out of the question.

Paul Matty sell a 43d which is a replacement for the 23d original, made by Aldon from whom you can also buy direct. No doubt all the other usual suspects sell the same.
You can also buy them from here http://www.simonbbc.com/ with the option of an electronic ignition module. Aldon also do their own electronic version too so, as Rohan says, plenty of options.

I fitted an Aldon distributor many years ago and it's still going strong so they get my vote. There are a lot of cheap Chinese copies around so I would suggest buying from one of the better known parts suppliers ..

Thanks guys, Aldon and Distributor doctor recommended I sent mine in for a refurb. Both have a long lead time so I'm going to try and get through the next couple of weeks with a fresh cap and arm.
Mines actually the wrong one it should be a 40953 and its a 41... so i'll get it corrected when the time comes to send it off.
Out of interest what are the SimonBBC ones like?

You could try Burton Power in Ilford. If you can get down to Ilford from where you are in East Anglia they may have one in stock you can take away.
Otherwise you should be able to post it to you for the next day - again if they have one in stock. Check their on-line catalog or give them a ring if you want to use them.

Allegedly, the 43D is an improvement over the 23D. The reason being slightly larger, therefore bigger rotor arm and cap, therefore larger distance between king lead and earth, therefore takes a higher voltage before breakdown. Allegedly.
