Hi George
when I rebuilt my +2s (1973 model) I prewired the dash using a number of multiway connectors. I uses the dash as a sort of hub for all the other wiring. I did my own loom and used the following multiway connectors
3 for the front loom, 2 for the rear loom, 1 each for left and right doors , 1 for the heater, one for the steering column. for the reversing switch I used a pair of bullets, and two 1/4" fast-ons ( lucar) connectors for the alternator feed.
Removing the dash is now a bit easier- had to do it once , because the electrics come apart, and go back together quite easily. By using connectors with a variety of ways I was able to arrange that connectors could not easily be installed in the wrong position
I haver attached a picture of the drivers foot well showing the general idea.
Connectors I used were from vehicle wiring products multi connectors 6.3mm
hope this helps
best of luck
Bob

Middle photo is the flasher relay for the indicators. I replaced mine with an electronic unit so the indicators flash at the same time, even when I take my foot off the accelerator.. yes I do still have a dynamo

Hi
I have got the dash in loose and have connected the earths.
All but the instrument lights are now working.
I have followed the wiring diagram and all looks ok and I have Bridged the switch for the instrument lights but still can't get them to work.
I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on what I might be missing?
Cheers

George, did you run a ground wire in series from each instrument to a known ground location?

Hi Folks,
A little update slightly later than planned.
Dash now all in and working.
If you are thinking about changing the dash yourself I would recommend having a go- don?t rush it and search back some previous threads on the forum.
Thanks to all the members who offered advice and encouragement.
The finished job.
This was a great help, downloaded from the site and printed on A2 paper.
Cheers
