Hello
Having bought all the bits I started to fit today. Unfortunately the springs on my 41225 are identical ie not 1small & 1big so I don't know which way round to put the 40953 springs? My gut feeling is that it doesn't matter, as basically the larger spring is longer so comes on after the initial take up on the small spring?
See pictures:-
So with the 12 degree cam it should give me 24 + static so approx 34 total. The funny thing is that the one in the car is a 10 and according to Miles Wilkins should have been a 7??
So which way round do the springs go?
Thanks
Terry

I suppose you haven't got a picture of the weights underneath?
I've just checked and the weights in my 12 degree donor are different to my 41225 weights. They are more like the shape of yours? I built everything up and wasn't getting any advance which I think is due to the weights limiting the advance.
Thanks

Excellent! I need to put in the weights from my donor 23d they are the same as yours.
The other weights allow hardly any movement?
It's funny as there are loads of posts and loads of info on the net that suggest that the weights from a distributor family are the same. I can categorically state they are not!
Thanks again Brian
