Hi, I'm rumaging together bits for a looming alternator conversion on my 69 +2, I've just souced a crossflow bottom alternator mount that was described as a Capri/cortina item, I've been searching the threads on here and have struggled to get a definative answer to the best item for this conversion, I've heard the pinto item a a good way to go but the ones I seen came with 3 mounting lugs to the block as appose to two?, I apolagise if I'm going over old ground in advance, I've believe it's still acceptable to re-use the existing dynamo tensioner bracket (I'm fitting a 18 ACR unit), best regards, Rob.
Item can bee seen here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151020665018?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Rob,
If you go to the SJ Spotscars (located in the UK) site and select: your car, electrical, alternator they have the three items you need to mount an alternator. Lower mount, adjusting strap (top mount) and bracing plate. The double legged adjusting strap and bracing plate are used to spread the load of the top mount over three bolts, instead of one, to protect the alloy front cover from cracking.
Regards,
Colin.
