Dip Switch Information

PostPost by: William2 » Wed Mar 20, 2013 11:16 am

As part of my rebuild of an S4 Elan from boxes of parts, I have dismantled the steering column parts. I noticed that the headlamp dip switch stalk has a sprung loaded position I am guessing that was for flashing headlamps on the Triumph cars that the unit comes from but that this facility is not used on Elans. Does that sound correct? However the 4 flying wires coming from the switch are appear to be different colours to those shown on the S4 wiring diagram. The colours are red/brown, blue/white, blue/red and brown. However, I noticed on the wiring diagram that the wiring junction break does not appear to be shown. Is my switch the correct one and if so how do I connect the wires to the main loom? For reference the part number on the switch is Lucas 102 SA BS1004A. Thanks for any help on this matter.
