Rocker Switches

Does anyone know of a good way to clean the oxidation off the rocker switches? Mine are looking faded and grey. I heard using silicone brake fluid would clean them but I tried it with little results. I could always scuff and paint but I was hoping someone had a better way.

If you search the forum there is a method using a dye. I used this on mine which worked

Several coats of Armorall will bring them up like new. Reapply once or twice a year.

If you're interested in new replacements, I can offer a solution of sorts. Years ago, I found a batch of surplus switches with smooth, shiny black and ribbed beige rockers. Virtually identical to our OEM ones - perhaps .5mm wider. All you do is swap the black ones for the beige ones and you're good to go.

First Elan dashboard I restored was for an S4 Sprint which is now in our local British Museum of Transportation.

I can probably put together a few more sets with the switches I have on hand.
