Just a radio aperture tip when fitting new dash

I was asked the other day how to fit the wooden blanking plate to a new dash when you don't intend fitting a radio, but perhaps may wish to later.

The method I used was to glue a couple of thin pieces of wood to the back of the dash and I then carefully positioned and glued the radio blanking panel onto them. (I think if memory serves I used lollipop sticks but anything similar will do)

The advantage of this method is that if you wish to fit a radio you do not need to remove the dash as would be needed with screwed brackets. Simply applying thumb pressure would break the lollipop sticks and allow easy removal of the blanking panel.
