Whilst I'm on a roll, sorting my rebuild electrics: Does anybody know:-
Where's the Radiator electric fan motor and Otter switch wiring diagram details listed for the European S4 Sprint ?
Can't seem to find any mention of them?
Also, there's a notation on the Lotus Elan 4 wiring diagram, in the engine loom, adjacent the Headlamp Relays and just above the washer Bottle, that seems to read: Sovv ? ? - can anyone throw a light on this abbreviation please? (abs. - should'nt use them!)
Finally, I don't seem to have a Horn relay, my vehicle is fitted with Air horns, was this not normally fitted in this case?
Questions, questions, so many questions - sorry !
Replies appreciated.

My Workshop Manual, wiring diagram also makes no mention of the electric fan, even though one was fitted. When I got the new wiring loom, during restoration, no provision was made for an electric fan either. I ended up making an extra loom for the fans I installed. You can gain some insight, to the wiring, by referring to the +2 diagrams.
A Sovy unit is a device fitted to the lid of the brake master cylinder to detect loss of brake fluid in the system. It was fitted to the Nth American cars and puts on the red, brake fail light on the dashboard. The connection exits the wiring loom at the same place as the windscreen washer motor.
Can't really answer the question about the air horns. Would expect though that if air horns were factory fitted a relay, as per the wiring diagram, would be used. Perhaps, they were a dealer fitted option, and the easy route of just plugging the air horns straight into the existing wiring was used?

My S4 SE came with dual electric horns as standard & the replacement wiring harness I have has two sets of contacts for the original horns. Just connect one of these pair to the horn relay & run a seperate fused line from the fuse block to the relay for the air pump. I think that most people who bought the Elan in the 60s retrofitted air horns instead of the puny sounding elctric horns.
