lubricating interior fan

My fan turns, slowly to not at all.
Have tried long spray hoses (through the duct), but i suspect the cooling openings of the fan are on the back-side (most of my attempts end up on the fan blades).
Has anyone fitted re-sealable holes through the air-intake behind the hood for lubrication, or are there no openings on the rear of the fan motor.

any ideas on lubricating a old tired fan without pulling the lovely old brittle dash, as i suspect the fan only requires an amount of ATF or Switch/Contact cleaner.

Are you certain the problem is lack of lubrication rather than a bad or corroded electrical connection? It might be easier to check that out first than pulling things apart.

i have used dielectric on the dash and side of air box connections
the other contacts appear in the elan+2 manual to be behind the air box
i will double check the resistance and voltage but it seemed ok

Mine had a similar problem when I got it which I tried to sort with spray lubes. None really worked long term... You could try bypassing the two speed resistor, but the real solution is to change the motor! I fitted a complete second hand heater box which I had refurbed with new seals (old bicycle inner tube and foam sheet) etc. In summer there is less of a need for it, so you have 6 months to prepare to remove the dash and do battle. I do recommend sourcing a heater box to refurb and have to hand as it makes the job much less of a chore, and the chances are that the seals and foam pads are just dust... Having a spare heater box gives you time to understand how the system works (or not!) and where improvements can be made (proper sealing of the outlets).

There are new motors available, but they are pricey. A second hand motor should be OK and you can service it before fitting.

I can't see a way to effectively service it without pulling the heater box. The motor and bearings are pretty much covered up and seated in a round hole in the fibreglass. Here is a pic that will show you what it looks like from the back. There is lots of info on repairing the heater box, replacement cores & motors, etc. on the Plus 2 section of the forum. If it has not been out before it will need a complete rebuild of the foam for sure.
