+2 side reflectors

Can anyone send me a photo of a federal (U.S.) pre "S" model +2 with side marker reflectors. My car has reflectors front and rear. They are not the same as the later "S" .

Hi Bob,
I've got what you need but they're in two different locations, and neither are here at home. I took the reflectors off my '69 +2 and filled the holes without repainting the car. I'll dig them out of a box first chance I get and when I visit my car I'll shoot a pic or two of where they were located.
If I recollect correctly they were the same as used on MGBs and even Midgets of the era, Lord Knows what else. Reflectors, orange front and red rear, no lights, chrome bezel with a rib.

I have new reflectors. They are Lucas RER-22. Readily available. Although the rubber plinths they are mounted on are unavailable.

What I need is a picture with a ruler inserted detailing the locations of the holes. There are 4 reflectors, one +2 badge (lower rt fender), car constructor badge (upper lft fender) and trunk floor mounting bracket holes (through glass located "under" where rear bumper wraps around.

Here goes, I put black tape where the holes were.
I removed mine as I believe the car looks much better without Uncle Sam's idea. (I think they had to be a certain distance above the ground)
If I can dig out the reflectors from which box? I can trace the plinths so you can cut new ones, but I'd leave 'em off, Eric

I have the rubber plinths and new reflectors. I am attaching them as it was as original and the car will have a period look. I remember as a young man that a car without side markers was an "old" car. Shows what I considered an old car. When a 1969 car was new I considered a 1967 an "old" car. I now drive an eight year old Jeep and it runs fine.

Yes I need to get dimensions for the "Elan +2" badge located on the bottom right fender. The original holes have been filled.

Hi,

My car (serial number 2192) was originally for the states but was modified by the factory for the UK and licensed in 1970. Consequently, it had the side reflectors, and one +2 badge on the RH side. However, I also noticed it was originally fitted with two badges, one on either rear wing and I have often wondered what they were. It is not an "S", so it would not be the "S" badge.

Eric. What age is your car and what are the badges fitted in the second picture?

Hi David, my +2 was built in December 1969 #502356 and is titled as a '69.
That badge is for the three world championships, won by Lotus in F1 up to that date.

Let me know if I can help with anything else Bob. The 2nd pic measurement began at the wheel well, I should've measured from the door frame.

It's four and a half inches above the metal trim strip measured on a straight line. Carpenter's tape would've worked better on the curved surface. Car in one place, computer in another...
