Hi
I have just converted the dynamo on my car over to an Elan and fitted the alternator, amnended the wiring as per the instructions located within the forum and manual.
The problem is that prior to the changeover the IGN warning light will not light up on switch on, and worked before I removed the control box.
The following are connections I have at the alternator :
I have 1 small connector (brown/green) connects to Bronw yellow
I have 1 large FAT CONNECTOR - TO SOLENOID
1 have another FAT CONNECTOR - BROWN /BLUE (2 CABLES)
I spare small terminal at right angles to the above.
Is there anything I have missed - and keep checking wiring and stoll can't get it to light up.
Tips and assistance welcome and appreciated.
Thanks

I am sure someone on the list will help you with your specific alternator but in general (I am assuming negative ground) key on 12v power goes to alternator warning light and then on to alternator small terminal. With just the key on (engine not running) alternator provides ground and light comes on. Once started this 12v initally energises the alternator, as soon as the alternator starts putting out voltage there is now 12v on both wires to alternator warning light (no ground) and the light goes out. If the warning light burns out your alternator will not get energised and will not charge. Hope this is of some help.
