Tacho woes!

PostPost by: tdafforn » Mon May 29, 2006 8:23 pm

After reading the thread about replacing old sticking throttle cables with bike cables, I did the same..
However as always one job leads to another, so I ended up replacing the starter solenoid (which had dodgy connections) with a new one...
Worked nicely, and means that the starter turns much faster..
However, now the tacho has gone crazy..
Its fine on startup and for almost exactly 40 seconds then it dies..
If I stop the engine an restart it is fine for 40 seconds and then dies again
The car has an aldon ignitor ignition, and has been working with it for over a year..
Any one have any ideas?
Cheers

I think I have sorted it...
semi fouled plug on number 2 cylinder, clue was mis-fire this morning..
Cleaned plug, and tacho worked for 10 minute drive to the shops!!
