Anyone Know What Elan S1 Rear Lights Are?

Which one are you looking for? There are 3 different lights on the US model of the S1 (2 are lights and one is a reflector). The two lights can be found NOS. You can even order just the lenses. If you need the reflectors - good luck. I have both of my reflectors, but one of the lenses is cracked and I have been looking for a new one with no luck.
Private Message me if you need help finding them. I don't always check back to the old threads on here. You should also post on the Yahoo Elan group (although this forum sends the thread to that group).

Try The Electrical Parts Company Ltd Tel: 01584 811118, they tell me they supply most of the Lotus Elan specialists in the UK?? I bought my replacement parts from them at various shows - they were also at Stoneleigh last year.

Not that this will help you much but I think they were fitted to Elites (type 14) and some other uncommon cars of the times, Marcos and TVR seem to ring a bell, I think I read it in one of my books and will try to find it.

I also seem to remember that one of the AC cars may have used them. I also saw that one of the landrover restoration shops on the internet offered them. I had called the owner several months ago and he said a couple of the older models used the same ones and that a lot of Lotus people call him for replacement lenses.

You may want to try Cobra Spares if you are in the states; see this page of their website:

I purchased a pair of L539's for a 1962 Super Seven from them.

L539's (roughly 3 inch in diameter) are the smaller lamps and the larger lamps are L551's a(roughly 3.75 inch in diameter) and came on various cars including Bentleys and MG Magnettes. L539's are generly available, the L551's sometimes show up on ebay.
