I replaced the stabiliser without removal of he dash! (well I connected a new stabiliser and left the old one in!)
The new solid state comes with 3 wire, slide of one of the spade connectors (two wires) on the existing stabiliser that goes to the temp/fuel gauge and connect this to the new stabiliser, then connect the live feed to the stabiliser via a piggy back on the wires grouped on the old stabiliser. Then find an earth for the other wire and done! When its time for the sash to come out , I can tidy things up!

PS New temp sender on its way, I wonder what reading mine will have???
