Is there a black-restore product for rocker switches?

I tried the baby oil approach as I also don't like using anything with silicon in it. I also wanted a 'not too black' look, since the dash has not been refinished and I prefer a bit of patina.
I cleaned the switches with acetone on a cotton bud and then applied baby oil. Wiped off the residue and did a second coat. I was very pleased with the result...

If you prefer the switches to be very black, then I can recommend the Wurth plastic dye product. Actually it's also available in anthracite. It lasts for ages, unlike most other products.

I went down a different path, and made bronze covers (very thin). Polished sides satin fronts then chrome plated..

I've done mine with Satin Black aerosol paint. After cleaning a coat of U-Pol Plast X plastic adhesion promoter, a coat of primer and two coats of paint.

I've just done this prior to fitting my new dash. I used fine wire wool and WD40, works a treat.
