Just as a ‘picky’ note.
The Oddessy is an AGM (abosorbed glass matt) type battery, not gel. Those to types are quite a bit different, with different charging requirements.
We used some gel for mountaintop public safey radio site, but they did not last nearly as long as some other types. (The Lead Calcium flooded that had high specific gravity for cold weather would lat 20-30 years).
I would never recommend a gel battery in a car. But highly recommend AGM ones.
I know, it is a bit like the ‘trickle’ vrs ‘float’ chargers that many seem to use interchangeably, but are quite different.
Back to real world.

One further detail - I damaged an Odyssey battery by not tricking charging properly.
I changed to a Ctek charger which has an AGM setting for longterm trickle and boost which seems to to be much better

One day I'll actually finish - completely - one day....

Just a mini update ( & Happy New Year ) ... I have now fitted my fabulous AGM battery ... & I`m VERY PLEASED with it !o!
The car now starts ( & the starter spins ) how it should , especially in cold weather .... the Boost CCA is a whopping 975 Amps !
Thanks for all the info` again ( & compliment Gav` ) ... & I know there have been previous discussions on this topic ... but I really didn`t know about AGM Batteries ( as opposed to Gel ) , or their specific charging arrangements ... so I`m confident now , that you have all put me on the right path !
This FT438-U1R AGM Battery ( with CTEK AGM Charging Fly Lead ) fits a treat in the original position ( doesn`t overhang or anything ) , bolts to the existing threaded bobbins ( just needed a new clamp arrangement ) ... & caters for round or square connections , available in left or right hand + orientation ... it`s the dogs !
Cheers ,
