I didn’t realise I was opening a can of worms, I just wanted to connect the wires correctly. I only listen to Radio 4!
Do I dare ask about the handbrake? Usually contentious.

I can recommend a Bluetooth conversion, just connect your phone and use the BBC Sounds app to listen to R4 live or any program you have downloaded. No interference and very good sound quality.
Mine works seamlessly, just get in the car switch on the Turnolock and it connects automatically to my phone. Use the BBC app or tell Google to play music (whatever) or argue with Alexa or her ugly mate Siri and the music world is your lobster.
