What will a 3.55 rear reduce the RPM to @ 60 MPH ?

Changing the differential ratio is an interesting idea.
Right now my girlfriend and I both reach for the nonexistent 5th gear because the car pulls so quickly through 1st to 4th. There are some amazing road trips and great driving roads here in SoCal but you cannot avoid major freeways to get started.
I would trade off a bit of first gear shove for more relaxed high speed touring.

Same here. I've only driven my Plus 2 a hundred-odd miles as yet but I constantly find myself wanting a fifth gear. I've had it up to 90+ in fourth and driven for under an hour keeping up on a major freeway but having fifth would still be an improvement. North Georgia has some really *amazing* twisties too, but I have yet to take this car up there. Soon!

So now I have to do is track down a gearbox, figure out how to change the question mechanism, get the new engine and gearbox out, remove the new good gearbox, fit the new good five-speed, and then reinstall and put everything back up.
Sounds like 90 minutes of work. Ha.
I suppose I should keep in mind that I’m only considering doing this because I absolutely love the car.
