Wiper Wash Switch

FYI, for those considering changing to an electric washer activation:
Just found a momentary (normally off) switch with the right thread and size to replace the washer pump bellows that connects to the wiper switch. I can now press the wiper knob for water and the electric washer pump runs.
This has the added benefit of being in my local hardware store (Lowes)

I fitted an electric pump many years ago and as I never used the choke, just pumped the throttle a couple of times, I fitted a long stalk momentary switch in its place as this was in a good place to reach with your hand still on the wheel. I?m going one stage further now I?m fitting a new dash and rewiring the car, I?ve bought an old type Mini wiper washer switch that goes on the steering column. It fits easily opposite the indicator / dip switch that is on the right of the column. I?ve also bought off eBay a second column surround to modify to include a hole for this additional stalk, if necessary I can refit the original wiper switch / manual pump and column surround thus returning it to original if required at a later date. I?m just making up a short harness to link the column wiper switch to the existing wires behind the dash.
The next bit will cause comments I?m sure, I?m fitting a usb socket in the original wiper switch hole as I want power to charge my phone and sat nav, it?s the same size as the switch so is completely reversible at a later date if I want to return to original.

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine!

The TR6 of around 1972 has a suitable switch. Possibly only the Canadian market... the part number is 635-772 or try 155496
This has 2+off twist positions. Push activates a microswitch .
The hex rod is pretty much the right size. I eased the flats and the brass button with a file as I didn't want to damage my knob.
I got this from James paddock (UK triumph spares). I returned the first as the rotation force was too much and then it jammed..this one feels excellent.
