Windshield wiper system

There is no right or wrong side for the wipers to park (I'm talking about Elans, not +2s, about which I know nothing). This has been a subject of discussion, to my knowledge, at least since the late 60s. It gets a mention in John Bolster's book (not that that means anything!).
My 68 S4SE parked on the left, My 69 S4SE parks on the left and my 72 Sprint parks on the right; all are RHD cars. Perhaps we could have a poll?
Why yours should have changed is a mystery- perhaps climate change has something to do with it?

I agree from previous post that there seems to be no right or wrong side for the wipers to park. Mine did however park on the left side originally & my wiper arms have a crank in them which requires them to park on the left.

Hi All

Mine (on a +2) park on the right which means that the the one in front of the driver (RHD) is parked on the sharply curving part of the windscreen. The wiper blade tens to set at this curve whch means that when I need to use them the central part of the blade does not touch the windscreen right on my eyeline. I have been considering changing them so that they pary on the left but don't know how to go about it. I think I would need a different wheel in the wiper motor.

If anyone has any tips they would be appreciated.

Andy,

It is an easy thing to change,
Remove the gear from the motor assembly.
Separate the nylon gear from the peg drive plate
Turn through 180 deg
Reassemble

When checking always remove the wiper arms stick something like two tie wraps to the wheel boxes to replicate the arms and test - when you know it is all working correctly refit wiper arms / blades

A friend's to teh driver's side.

Both originally RHD cars....
