Happy New Year to you all!
What is wrong with the original setup? Mine come up like a rat up a drainpipe and will stay up for 14 hours or more when put in the garage with the knob left out.
I have two very bright tiny spots behind the grill for flashing - if you will pardon the expression.
Thought for 2010
Youth passes - but with luck immaturity will last a lifetime.

Cable operated headlights.
The Elan is nose heavy to start with so high polar moment forward weight can really be felt on the track. In answer to your question though, I just lost 50 pounds so weight loss is on my mind.
But more to the point, simplicity and reliability are also worthwhile goals.
