Glove box latch options

1970 Elan +2, built Apr. '69.
Glovebox has no handle to pull open, no holes to indicate a missing pull. No latch on the inside as seen in some parts manuals, again no holes to indicate a latch assembly. Inside on the top left is a tab to keep the door from going past the dash face. No holes in the top of the cardboard glovebox.
Does anyone have this same set up? Suggestions and pictures will be appreciated.
