Wipe/wash switch connections

First, thanks to everyone that replied to my question on heater connections.
This concerns the wipe/wash switch connections on my early 1969 Elan Plus2.
The old switch had 4 male spade terminals and one female spade terminal. The wash worked as a pump action.
I'm replacing the old switch with a more modern Cole hersee wash/wipe switch.
The connections to the female spade terminal on the old switch came from the fuse box and fed the oil guage and the indicator flasher.
1. Does this old arrangement seem correct?
2. If I'm replacing the switch do the need to provide a new feed for the oil gauge and indicator flasher unit?
Please excuse me if I'm missing something obvious my autoelectric skills are weak almost to non-existent.
Thanks
