Late S3 relay

My S3 wiring diagram doesn't show this relay. What does it do? It looks like a bit of a bodge with
aftermarket spade connectors. This view is looking at the bulkhead from under the dash on the
left hand side (LHD car). I'm not having any electrical problems but I plan to remove the RB106
regulator and it's bolted to this relay. I'm just worried that if any of its wires pop off, I won't know
their origins.

Greg, not sure what it's function is, but I can tell you that is a fairly new Lucas 6RA relay.

Difficult to see - but Is there a short blue wire between 2 terminals on the relay? if so converts it from being a 4 wire relay into a 3-wire relay like 6RA 33233e.

C2 & W2 are now connected together, w1 is usually grounded - so whatever is connected to C1 will be powered whenever C2 is hot (powered.)

p.s. Looks to be a pretty new harness

Correct, a new harness was installed when the car was restored about six years ago. This was
the former rcombs (i.d. on this forum) car.

It is hard to see whether there is a blue wire connecting the terminals. I'll have to get a mirror
to determine that, but it'll be an fyi thing only since everything works, but good to know.

Thanks much!
