Yes , It could be the self-park switch ( fitted underneath the wiper body ) or the wiring itself...there is a permanent battery and earth connection ( via the ignition if I remember correctly.)
Time to get the diagram and multi-meter out.

There is a lot going with the self parking circuitry. There have been a few threads about this recently.

If you're going to take it apart , note the " mounting clip " , 1cm ( approx) slide then remove.
