Hello Chaps, having read a similar thread about a week ago I thought it was time to see if the Fiamm horn compressor I bought cheap of E..y would work. And to no suprise it did not, after a strip down and clean still no show. But if I reverse the + and - perfection, what is all that about ?
Steve
Thanks Guys

All to do with what earth is employed by the car and the device. Being a motor, the two must be compatible.

DC motors are bi-directional - reverse the polarity of the supply and the motor runs the opposite way.

The Fiamm compressor is a 'sliding vane' design, and has to rotate in the correct direction to work. Connect the motor the wrong way around, it goes in reverse and doesn't pump air. Link below explains it all.
