A bit of a tip for fitting these. Fully assemble the whole lamp and thread the wires through the car body with the screws in the lamp. Then fit the spire clips and tighten by hand. Can always get a grip of the screw with a small set of pliers and turn the screw a tad more.
Otherwise you can faff about trying to engage the chrome cup. Obviously dependant on how much paint and glass is in that area but can be a a right PITA for a small job.
