Lucas L734 side repeaters.

PostPost by: davidj » Mon May 24, 2021 7:13 pm

Good evening,

I am fitting Lucas L734 side repeaters which I believe are correct for my S3 (at least, the correct ones which are still readily available) . The orange cover is held on by a screw and catch. Should the screw be at the front or rear when fitted? I have combed the net and this site but cannot find any detailed pictures or info.

Cheers,

David

The L734 was fitted on the early Elan SEs and I fitted them on my non-SE as I was commuting in busy traffic. I copied the exact position for it so almost certainly fitted it the original way way round; it gives a cleaner look and better rain sealing. Edit: I forgot to say which way round that was! Later post does

I think it is the best looking of the Elan repeaters, the others look out of context.

Thanks for your reply, but I cannot see on the picture if the screw holding the lens cover on the L734 is at the front or rear.

Cheers.

I forgot to say which way round I fitted mine! Just as well as I remembered incorrectly. My screw is at the front, as Mazzini says, so the indented clip is at the back.
