I converted Gareth Flanagan's excellent wiring diagram from the tech section from DXF to a PDF file so many more of you can read it:

I also did this, printed at A3 and laminated at work, very useful thing to keep in the car.

I've attached my effort as I had to resize the legend text to get it to line up properly, and I changed the base colour from turquoise to grey so it was clearer.

Thanks for this diagram, really easy to follow.

Because of the quality attained with this I was thinking, wouldn't it be great to have the Author (or anyone else who's capable), provide us with a similar one including some of the 'upgrades' ..........

I was thinking, with the inclusion of perhaps:-

Alternator
Geared Starter
Electronic ignition
Correct headlamp flasher wiring layout
Additional fuses
Electric fuel pump
Water temp /otter fan switch
Etc.......????

(Some people are never satisfied are they!)

Regards,

Phil.

How about the 'Fasten Seat Belt' light on the dash? Included is the wiring going to each seat belt stalk. I don't know how common it is but it's on mine, 0243K, January '72 .

If you send me a scanned in sketch of the modified diagram I would be happy to CAD it up.

Dear All:

I am about to send my '69 S-4 to a local auto-electric shop to tidy up my wiring and help me get my ignition switch working properly. They have requested a wiring diagram, so I plan to color print the the excellent diagram Gareth, Phil, and Steve did in 2013 (see above) on 11x17 paper.

I'm no electrician, but doesn't this diagram indicate a positive, rather than a negative ground? This would certainly not be correct for an S-4.

Many thanks!

I printed my color schematic on a 2' x 3' (or so) paper, then had it laminated. All can be done in a FedEx
store. Well worth it! I can guarantee this won't be the last time you refer to it. Dirty fingerprints can be wiped off, and the paper is preserved.

Excellent, Greg!

So, I email the schematic .pdf to the local Fedex store and have them print it? Perfect. 11x17 (my max, in-house) is clearly not large enough, unless you have a really good magnifying glass.

Thanks!

I brought it to them on a thumb drive. They know how to keep things in proportion when blowing it up
so as to not go too far.

edit: Ok, so I was a little optimistic. I measured the schematic and it is 19" x 24" with a bit of laminate
overlap. Perfect size to follow the wires.
