Anti theft switch

PostPost by: Carlos A » Sat Oct 06, 2012 3:56 am

Could somebody please tell me where the anti theft switch would be located? May be a picture? Mine is a 1969 Lotus Elan plus two (non-federal)

Thanks a lot. Carlos

Carlos,

The switch is/would have been inside the glove box on the RHS. The inside of the glove box lid on my 1968 +2 has a small label showing 'on/off'.

If you'd like a pic let me know.

Cheers

Dear Stuart:

Thank you very much. The car is in the mechanic right know and he asked me about it (he is fixing an intermittent lack of spark). I never seen any switch in the car. That is why I was wondering if somebody had a picture of it in the glove compartment. Do you? I would appreciate it. Best Carlos

My car has a battery cut off in the boot (trunk), fitted after market, I infer. It's a removable key.

Carlos,

We're in different time zones. I'll get some shots today.

Interesting with the toggle switch, the anti-theft switch in my federal +2S is just as shown in John Clegg's photo, of course mirror-imaged as mine is left-hand drive.
